To Get into the Kentucky Derby Swing of Things

This is ultimate luxury for bourbon lovers. Spicy, floral, fruity, prestigious, pricey. Produced at the Buffalo Trace distillery in the heart of Kentucky, in Frankfort, Kentucky to be exact, Blanton’s, back in 1984, was the first bourbon to be released as a single cask bottling. This straight bourbon is named after Colonel Albert B. Blanton who ran the distillery from 1912 to 1953. Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon was the creation of Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee who before he retired was asked to create an exceptional bourbon. He remembered how the Colonel would himself pick out a bourbon from one of the so called honey barrels when he had special guests and dignitaries. He would have that bourbon bottled one barrel at a time. Today the bottle stoppers depict a horse and jockey and have become a trademark of Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon, a great addition to the Kentucky Derby weekend and its bourbon-based mint juleps. Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbons are available in Paris at La Maison du Whisky. Special to The Gourmet Gazette https://www.blantonsbourbon.com/ https://www.whisky.fr/en
