Europe, Olfactively

It is floral and woody at the same time, a warm bouquet emanates from Auditorium, the first in a series of three perfumes in the line Spirit of Europe from the family-owned house of Parfums Serena Galini.

The idea of creating a collection of perfumes around the scents of Europe came about in Strasbourg during the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome on March 25th, 2017. Isabelle Prin Du Lys was giving an olfactory conference during events for the anniversary and was approached by the deputy mayor of Strasbourg Nawel Rafik-Elmrini in charge of European and International Affairs to see if it would be possible to compose a fragrance that was emblematic of Europe, the idea being to propose an original gift to personalities attending the parliamentary sessions in Strasbourg.

Mrs Prin Du lys enlisted the services of master perfumer Thierry Bernard. Citrus fruits and wild flower aromas, lavender and jasmine are all among the 465 notes that the perfume possesses. This precious perfume — precious for it is outfitted with two main top notes — is conserved in a special bottle ensconced in walnut wood hand-made by the woodworking studio of the Sonnenhof Foundation.
