
Eau d’Or, literally water of gold, is an organic liqueur distilled in Meursault in the heart of Burgundy by the independent house of Pegasus Distillerie while drawing its sunny inspiration of citrus notes from the French Riviera. Aromatic, fresh and fruity it is bursting with organic notes of lemon from the Menton region on the Riviera, bitter orange and orange blossom each macerated for over 18 hours and incorporated into a French organic wheat distillate. Water from the house’s artesian well located beneath the distillery adds to the refreshing quality of the liqueur which is twice distilled and aged for at least three months in stainless steel. The result is a beverage of an amber gold color and a light citrus and floral taste bringing to mind the sun. Serve a few shots over ice topped off with tonic water. But the best to date is a shot of Eau d’Or in a high ball glass which is then filled with ice cold champagne and garnished with a slice of orange. The Pegasus Distillerie was founded by Maxime Girardin in 2021. The house has four emblematic creations to its credit: Pegasus Vodka, Orion Gin, Eau d’Or and Minty Liiqueur.
