Orient Star is celebrating its 75th anniversary in skeleton style with a new M34 F8 Skeleton Hand Winding model. The design of the dial is inspired by the Perseid meteor shower — which will be reeling through the sky above Earth from July 14th until September 1st — and features a superb skeleton movement outfitted with a new meteorite-finish. The eye-catching universes-inspired watch has been brought out in a limited edition of just 430 pieces and is part of the independent house’s M34 Contemporary Collection. The timepiece has a stand-out two-tone design while the ring-shaped openwork dial with Roman numerals and indices features a new black and grey gradation with matte finish. It is outfitted with an in-house movement based on the house’s hand winding calibre F8B61 and a power reserve of over 70 hours. It is engraved with the words “Orient Star 75th Anniversary” and serial number on the see through case back, and comes with a black cordovan leather strap and buckle with push button.

The 75th anniversary skeleton watch has a meteorite-like finish and a comet-shaped balance bridge with two characteristic tails. Established in 1951 with a desire to create mechanical timepieces worthy of being called “shining stars”, Orient Star now draws inspiration from the universe – the origin of time itself – to present M Collections, designed on the theme of nebulae and star clusters as well as Greek mythology. And 75 years on, the house continues to deliver unique made-in-Japan watches around the world.https://www.orientwatchusa.com/collections/orient-star
