Paris, France — He was one of the greatest modern painters of the 20th century. The colors, the shapes and forms in the works of Marc Chagall are unique and remain part of one’s visual memory. They have a lasting, timeless character. A unique exhibition of some 20 of his works is being played out at the Paris branch of the Opera Gallery, a beautifully appointed and spacious gallery on the sumptuous rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The show, entitled Marc Chagall, the Poetry of Emotions, showcases some 20 emblematic works by the Franco-Russian artist. Through the years, the Opera Gallery has put together one of the finest private collections in the world of the artist’s works.

« I don’t want to be the same as others. I want a new world, » he said. And so be it. His compositions are unique. He was raised in a Jewish Hasidic family in which the dream, the fête, and joy were exalted in perpetual wonder. And he did create a wonderful new world. This exhibition transports the visitor into this wonderful, magical world. The show is running until April 19th. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. https://www.operagallery.com/event/marc-chagall-the-poetry-of-emotions
