It is seemingly everybody’s favorite color. Pure purple. An essential color that somehow inspires hope and happiness. The Zurich-based boutique watch house of Maurice de Mauriac will introduce next week at the Time to Watches exhibit in Geneva a purple wonder. The family-owned house’s new timepiece in perfect purple is part of the house’s L3 Chronograph series and has been christened Spheric Purple with its stunning gradient dial with a Bauhaus-inspired design. The watch is available in both manually-wound and automatic versions. And both are powered by movements fashioned by the house of Concepto for Maurice de Mauriac. The L3 Spheric Purple is available in both a brushed stainless steel case and a DLC-coated stainless steel case. The timepiece is outfitted with a fine leather strap in ivory black and has a power reserve of 48 hours.

But color has always played a key role at Maurice de Mauriac. The atelier is a sea of colors with their green, red, blue and black watches in their matching boxes. Previous colored watches include the L3 Sees Red and the L3 Cherry Blossom. Maurice de Mauriac was founded in 1997 by Daniel Dreifuss and its atelier in Zurich is open to the public. Today Daniel’s sons Massimo and Leonard have been at the helm of the company since 2020 and were recently joined by their sister Masha. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. https://mauricedemauriac.com/
