Paris, France — Here luxury, gastronomy and cinema come together for a more than memorable and exclusive evening. Welcome to the Plaza Cinema Club. The palatial Plaza Athénée hotel is, starting this evening June 27th, projecting full-length feature and fabled movies in its sumptuous and secretive inner courtyard accompanied by themed gastronomic dinners. The plant-filled courtyard is literally being transformed into an open-air cinema until July 1st. The luxurious hotel is teaming up with the movie group MK2 for the event. Chef Jean Imbert has imagined five made-to-measure themed menus to correspond with the five films being projected. « I have loved cinema since I was a child. The link between gastronomy and films has always been a very inspiring topic. » said Jean Imbert. Jaws kicks off the event on June 27th accompanied by a fish-filled menu. On the 28th, the fun animated film Ratatouille is on with a menu that pays tribute to Paris with great classical dishes from the repertoire of French gastronomy. The 29th is a projection of Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief accompanied by a vegetarian menu featuring the finest fruits and vegetables of the French Riviera in a tribute to the film’s location. But meat lovers must not fret, on the 30th Jurassic Park is being shown with a carnivorous menu and on Friday July 1st get ready for James Bond in Goldfinger when visual nods to the film will be served along with a tasting of spirit drinks. The films are projected in their original version (English) with French subtitles and audio headphones will be distributed.
