Moments in Time: Red Carpet Time with Chopard

It is that time of year again, well not exactly. Held annually, the International Cannes Film Festival reaches out to the world habitually in the month of May. The festival was cancelled for the first time in its history last year and pushed back to July this year because of the health situation. The festivities for the 74th festival open up in the Festival Palace on the famous Croisette on July 6th. A star of the show is the Red Carpet Collection from the house of Chopard.

The first model in this year’s Red Carpet Collection is a sparkling emerald high jewelry watch named Esperanza. The watch is entirely crafted in ethical 18-carat white gold glowing with more than 41 carats of Zambian emeralds, a gemstone which has been coveted since Antiquity, spectacularly arranged in a mixture of pear-shaped and round-shaped cuts complemented by 6.38 carats of glittering diamonds. The house’s artisans required more than 515 hours to fashion this masterpiece of jewelry and haute horlogerie. The Esperanza watch is part of the spectacular Red Carpet Collection, the High Jewelry Collection that Caroline Scheufele designs each year as part of Chopard’s historic partnership with the Cannes Film Festival. Caroline Scheufele is Chopard’s co-president and artistic director.
