Marseille, France — A pilgrimage for some, a discovery for others, but either way a brilliant, captive exhibition is unfolding inside the Orange Vélodrome of Marseille. The venue, usually home to football and the home stadium of the mythical OM of Marseille football (soccer) team, is hosting a retrospective and immersive exhibition devoted to the Rolling Stones.

The intense journey through the Orange Vélodrome’s beautifully-appointed lounges enables visitors to enjoy a unique and exceptional experience, a glimpse into the world of these living legends through over 400 objects from their personal collections: instruments, costumes, unreleased recordings and videos, models for stage sets, albums as well as a life-size reproduction of their first apartment on Edith Grove in London and their recording studio. Visitors can also live or relive the legendary concert of the Stones in Havana alongside them on stage.

Entitled The Rolling Stones Unzipped, in a nod to perhaps their most iconic album cover, Sticky Fingers, the show opened last June 10th and will be running until September 5th. The band, which has been in existence since 1962, will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2022. The show revolves around the personal souvenirs of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood. The patron of the show is France’s legendary rock and roll journalist Philippe Manoeuvre. So if you can’t be in France to see this exceptional event, The Gourmet Gazette brings it to you with a Gourmet Gazette slide show.
