There was a countdown, but not the usual countdowns heard in Florida at Cape Canaveral. It was the countdown to the Miss Universe contest held in Hollywood, Florida on May 16th. Among the contestants, Miss France, Amandine Petit, who hails from Normandy and who in ultimate French fashion was dressed to the nines by, among others, the designer Ziad Nakad. His unique designs stand-out through unusual beadings and sheer embroideries, very much in evidence in the designs, including the ever so important evening gown, worn by Amandine Petit, who competed with contestants from 73 other countries and finished in the top 21 contestants.
