Paris, France — The family-owned house of Mathon has been offering unique pieces of jewelry for three generations now. Mahon owes its origins to Roger Mathon, who trained at the Decorative Arts and the prestigious Ecole Boulle school of arts and crafts. He lived in the countryside in a verdant natural setting. There the animals of the forest and plants and flowers joined forces to feed his imagination. He would work for the Parisian houses and workshops who gave him myriad orders and the family would eventually take over the Atelier Bournadet in the early 1970’s proffering the house with its own workshop. Roger and his wife Louise were joined in their endeavors by their children Catherine who incorporated colored stones into her jewelry designs and Frédéric who would develop the overseas market while Pascal would introduce technological innovations into the workshop. Today Aude Mathon with Jean-Baptiste have joined the family venture and adventure.

Today delicate craftsmanship, the hand of man, tradition and modernity continue to be the hallmarks of the house which has received the prestigious EPV label designating a Living Heritage Company. The house’s craft techniques are preciously passed down from generation to generation within the workshops. The Mathon workshops integrate all aspects of jewelers making from design to casting, chiseling, setting, lacquering, bead threading and watchmaking. The house also engages in custom jewelry making and can set stones for you that you have acquired at home or abroad.
