The house of Glashütte Original has brought out a lovely limited edition ladies watch showcasing lilac. The house’s new PanoMatic Luna features diamond set rod indexes and lilac Arabic numerals forming a heart at the center. The eye-catching timepiece is outfitted with a hand-crafted mother-of-pearl dial further enhance by the Arabic numerals in different sizes. The dial is made in the house’s own dial manufacture in Pforzheim in Germany. Fashioned from the inner layer of sea shells, the dial is mounted on a disc of German silver to protect the razor thin material from breakage.

But what we really loved is the moon phase display and the striking appearance of its elaborately crafted moon dial also made in Pforzheim. The two silver-colored moons are first cut out with a milling tool and then their lunar surface is polished with a diamond milling tool imparting upon them that moon-like brilliance. The extra special feature upon closer inspection are the small hearts in the night sky. In line with the classic Pano style, the hour, minute and small second hands are positioned off center in the left half of the dial while the moon phase is at 2 o’clock. The bezel is the fabulous frame for the stainless steel case and brilliantly lights up this sky of a watch with 64 brilliant-cut diamonds. A matching purple strap in alligator leather spectacularly sets off the timepiece which has been brought out in a limited edition of only 25 pieces. Glashütte Original has been crafting timepieces continuously since 1845 in the Saxon town of Glashütte.
