Longines Time and A Divine Day at the Races

It is an exercise in elegance and style, the Prix de Diane Longines which was held for the 170th time on Sunday, June 16th in the chic and posh venue of the Chantilly race track at the foot of the glorious eponymous castle and in the heart of the forest. The event brings together the well-heeled and stylishly dressed from all over the world, an array of stunning hats and some of the finest racing horses on the planet. It is a chic and bucolic affair with the well-dressed spectators enjoying a picnic lunch on the lawn. You could bring your own picnic or purchase one there prepared by the French gourmet house of Fauchon stowed away, appropriately, in an aesthetic hat box.

The filly Channel raced to victory at the 170th Prix de Diane Longines horse race to win a share in the 1.13 million prize purse. And on the eve of the race the Swiss watchmaker Longines, who is the official timekeeper of the event, held a special event in the spectacular setting of the Castle of Chantilly with their Ambassadors of Elegance Kate Winslet and Simon Baker who highlighted a pair of watches from the house’s Record collection in stainless steel and rose gold. The ladies model features a white mother-of-pearl dial with diamond indexes while the mens piece is outfitted with a sun ray silver dial with bar indexes.

Longines was the event’s partner for the ninth time this year. The Prix de Diane is regarded as a premium race for 3-year-old fillies, It is organized by France’s flats racing association France Galop. We’ll see you next year.
