Paris, France — It is a colorful world of spring segueing into summer. The Galerie Christophe Person, specialized in contemporary African creations has just moved across the Seine from the Marais to an emblematic corner of the Left Bank. The doors opened up at 22 rue du Lac on April 17th in the former gallery of Jean Fournier who left us 20 years ago. It was in this gallery that the great internationally renowned abstract artists were exhibited for seven decades. The opening show is an ode to the abstract, entitled Material for Abstraction, Echoing the History of a Place. The show pays a tribute to all that is abstract and features some of the leading artists from the African continent, some of whose works are being shown for the very first time. Joseph Ntensibe from Uganda is presented by a walk into nature with « Advent of Spring, » an oil on canvas. Standout works are on hand by the French Belgian Congolese artist Tiffanie Delune including her stupendous « And the Sea Remembers, 2025, » in mixed techniques on canvas. The gallery is located in a delightful art and antique filled neighbourhood of Paris and the current show is on until June 13th. A must see. 22 rue du Lac, 75007 Paris, France.
