Paris, France —You don’t need to wait for your first trip in space to dine with the stars and our solar system. A galactic experience awaits at a new Parisian restaurant where the atmosphere is well quite frankly a lost in space adventure with excellent, carefully sourced produce and products on the planetary menu of simple and delicious dishes. Stellar recently opened up in the Parisian capital just a little ways beyond the Bastille but way beyond planet Earth. Winers and diners are submerged into a celestial setting, surrounded by the Milky Way, a field of meteorites, our solar system. The decor is conceived from real images of space which are then projected onto giant screens. And there are hand-painted planets sitting in space. You can even dine next to a NASA astronaut or in a secret room where you can gaze out onto the stars from portholes.

Dishes from all over the world are on offer, much like a multi-national space station: baked eggplant Argentinian style, Greek tarama, Japanese chicken marinated in soy sauce and ginger and carrots roasted in olive oil, shallot cream and chives, a quintessential French dish. There is even a mini astronaut children’s menu. There is an excellent selection of wines by the glass or the bottle including a not often seen Saint-Véran. You might also opt for a creative cocktail like the gin-based Saturn.

Stellar is the latest brainchild from the Ephemera group which aims to create immersive dining experiences. Stellar is the group’s third restaurant, the fist opened in Lyon and was devoted to Charlie and The Chocolate Factory while the second one, in Paris, is named Under the Sea. Stellar is open for both lunch and dinner and the establishment can be privatized. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. 45 rue Saint-Sebastien, 75011, Paris, France. https://en.ephemera-group.com/
