Mother-of-pearl, brilliant cut diamonds, white gold and a sunflower all add up to the two new models in Harry Winston’s Premier timepiece collection. The white gold models are embellished with the iconic sunflower motif featured in the eponymous Harry Winston fine jewelry collection. These resplendent flowers are basking in the light of the diamonds all the while being set against vibrant mother-of-pearl backgrounds.
The sunflower first appeared in the archival sketches of Hary Winston in the 1950s. These are flowers of bright dazzling colors and fine symmetry. The diamonds on the case and dial of the new models reveal their inner brilliance when they encounter light. The feminine timepieces wear a profusion of 177 brilliant-cut white diamonds and eight red rubies or blue sapphires spread along the case and the mother-of-peal dial.
“When we decided to incorporate the iconic Harry Winston sunflower motif in a watch design, our intention was to evoke the same natural grace of the jewelry collection and to create a timepiece that mirrors a precious jewel,” said Nayla Hayek, CEO of Harry Winston, Inc. “Evoking optimism and love, the Premier Sunflower adds an elegant brilliance for any occasion and serves as the perfect complement to any of the Sunflower fine jewelry pieces.”
The mother-of-pearl dials are masterpieces in and of themselves as the designers at Harry Winston have created three-dimensional shapes. The timepieces feature a fiery red or royal blue beaded mother-of-pearl background adorned with twelve nacre cabochons. Meanwhile 12 sunflowers composed of brilliant-cut diamonds mark the hours and the center of the dial envelops eight smaller flowers with diamond petals and ruby or sapphire hearts.
The elegant 36mm Premier case in 18-karat white gold is set with 57 brilliant cut diamonds and the timepiece is powered by a rose gold skeletonized rotor mechanical, automatic movement and the watch has a power reserve of 72 hours. The timepieces have been brought out in a limited edition of 30 pieces for each model. Outfitted with red or blue alligator straps to match the dials, they are secured to the wrist with a white gold ardillon buckle set with 17 brilliant-cut diamonds.
