New York, New York — It was one of those grand openings that New York loves. The Swiss house of Bucherer, a luxury jewelry and watch maker and retailer of high end timepieces, opened up its beautiful New York Bucherer 1888 TimeMachine flagship store last September 29th. The house of Bucherer is nestled into the historic home of Tourneau on 57th street and Madison Avenue. Champagne, elegance and a host of New Yorkers around town were all on hand for the spectacular opening.

The fabulous boutique is spread out over 18,000 square feet ensconced on three floors. The house introduced its Bucherer Blue line of watches, a dashing bouquet of watches from the likes of Panerai, Piaget, Ulysses Nardin, Longines and more all sporting something blue. Bucherer is also introducing its own line of high end watches in the New York flagship store and presenting for the first time its Bucherer Fine Jewelry collection to the American market.

« I am incredibly enthusiastic about the idea of introducing the brand Bucherer 1888 to the United States. As a family-owned Swiss company, already in its third generation, we represent the rich Swiss tradition for the quest for perfection and warm hospitality. The new beacon boutique is out commitment to constantly inspire our American clientele with fascinating brands coupled with a culture of impeccable Swiss service offering the best experience of personalized purchasing, » explained Jörg G. Bucherer, the owner and CEO of Bucherer.

The light-drenched boutique features a salon and exhibition space on the third floor dedicated to the Bucherer Fine Jewelry collection. Contemporary jewelry is on the agenda, but, too, master pieces of high jewelry and exceptional pieces exclusive to the New York store fashioned in the house’s workshops in Lucerne, Switzerland, known for its medieval architecture. A series of eight cocktail rings , Fleur des Alpes (Flower of the Alps), each set with a central precious stone weighing in at 7 or 8 carats as well as of a trio of rings called the Ladybird Stars of America set with what the house calls Big City Lights diamonds, Big Apple Red rubies and Hudson Blue sapphires.
Bucherer was founded in 1888 and today has 35 boutiques in Europe and runs 31 boutiques in the American market as the brand Tourneau in addition to its New York flagship. The company’s headquarters remain in Lucerne, Switzerland.
