Cannes, France — The 74th Cannes Film Festival came to a resounding close on July 17th, a fabled festival that was peppered with other essential elements of what is arguably the world’s most prestigious and glamorous film event: the Cannes soirées and dinner parties, albeit quite scaled back this year.
The Chopard Paradise Dinner was held on the scenic pontoon of the mythical Hotel Martinez on the Croisette for a small circle of guests that included the English model and actress Poppy Delevingne and French actresses Emmanuelle Béart and Valérie Lemercier all in attendance and all wearing Chopard jewelry. Invited by the co-president and artistic director of Chopard, Caroline Scheufele, the guests enjoyed a presentation of the Red Carpet Collection, an assortment of 74 Haute Joaillerie creations that were designed by Chopard, an official partner to the Festival, for actresses during the premiere of their films at the Festival.

Dinner guests enjoyed a parade of models in Red Carpet Collection creations while savoring Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne. Entertainment was provided by the magical magician David Jarre and the enchanting British-Lebanese singer Mika. The exclusive dinner was concocted by the starred chefs Sylvestre Wahid (from the “Sylvestre” restaurant at the Grandes Alpes Hotel) and Christian Sinicropi (from the Martinez Hotel’s “La Palme d’Or” restaurant).

Meanwhile another highlight of the Cannes after the film projections schedule is the amFar charity gala which raises funds for AIDS research, hosted by Sharon Stone and which was held on July 17th. Its usual 900-strong guest list was scaled back to 400 and was held outdoors at the Villa Eilenroc in Antibes. Among those in attendance were models Anita Pozzo and Dasha Yanina both dressed in Yanina Couture.
