As the 74th Cannes Film Festival carries on a star of the show is the Red Carpet Collection from the house of Chopard, the High Jewelry Collection that Caroline Scheufele designs each year as part of Chopard’s official partnership with the Cannes Film Festival since 1998. Caroline Scheufele is Chopard’s co-president and artistic director. The house also makes the prestigious Palm d’Or statue awarded at the festival.

This year’s Haute Joaillerie collection of 74 creations, the number of creations corresponds to the number of years since the Cannes Festival first began, is a lively and imaginative collection radiating energy and a rich, dreamy universe outfitted with lush gemstones fittingly entitled Paradise. Among the expressive pieces is a flamboyant double necklace choker interlacing yellow diamonds and adorned with a 30.68 fancy vivid yellow diamond. Immersed in a sea of sapphires is the dolphins ring which depicts these delightful creatures dancing around a magnificent 59-carat oval tanzanite. There is a sublime bracelet with a colorful and graphic central motif embellished with garnets, tsavorites and tourmalines. We give you a sneak peak of the making in the gallery above.

Meanwhile the first model in this year’s Red Carpet Collection is a sparkling emerald high jewelry watch named Esperanza. The watch is entirely crafted in ethical 18-carat white gold glowing with more than 41 carats of Zambian emeralds, a gemstone which has been coveted since Antiquity, spectacularly arranged in a mixture of pear-shaped and round-shaped cuts complemented by 6.38 carats of glittering diamonds. The collection showcases the work of the house’s artisans — from goldsmiths to gem setters — who exercise their art and craft in Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Geneva workshops, the largest in Switzerland.
The Cannes Film Festival is being held from June 6th to July 17th.
