Paris, France — A digital Paris Fashion week kicked off this week on the website of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the French organisation that brings together fashion brands and seeks to promote the culture of French fashion. The event which features hand-made one of a kind pieces is slated to return to its real life format in September. The digital alternative to the couture shows is something completely new and add a new creative dimension into the runway fashion shows, films, which can be watched over and over again by the general public at large. Meanwhile the elegant, flowing couture clothing from Maurizio Galante was captivating as a series of dreamy colors like ink, mauve, purple and lilac featuring a chorus of pleats glided by on screen. Entitled A Promise, the haute couture collection pays tribute to the moments of anticipation that precede an encounter or an event. The outfits come to life through the iconic model Amalia Vairelli who is featured throughout the «show » descending a seemingly endless staircase. The short dresses in the show feature meters of silk cut on the bias while pleated capes and flowing kaftans made from thousands of fabric elements offer an enticing take on lightness and elegance for the 2020 couture collection of Maurizio Galante.
