Paris France — The NFL, the National Football League kicked off in France on October 25th with the Pittsburgh Steelers beating the New Orleans Saints 16-10 at the Stade de France in the NFLs first ever regular season game to be held in France. But it wasn’t only about touch downs, the French touch was on the agenda as well. The famed French football (we call it soccer) club the Paris Saint-Germain organized a host of cultural and sport encounters. At the heart of it all, two new jerseys conceived by Fanatics combining elements of American football with the Paris Saint-Germain club.

The first shirt is dubbed Paris Red & Blue and features the emblematic colors of the French club while the second, Monogramme, revealed on October 18th by Alvin Kamara, the running back of the New Orleans Saints after a match against the New York Giants, is in garnet red and gold, drawing its inspiration from the historic colors of the Saints. Both shirts have the number 75, a reference to the first numbers of the zip codes of Paris and a fleur de lys, the emblem of both Paris Saint-Germain and the New Orleans Saints. The jerseys are currently available at store.psg.fr, the official Paris Saint-Germain boutiques in Paris and New York and at the NFL’s official boutique in Paris. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette
