Paris, France — Decadent dinner parties. A lady in red with a bright white cat. Aces akimbo. Welcome to the wonderful colorful and at times strange world of British photographer and artist Miles Aldridge whose photographs are holding court in an exhibition at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme entitled Entrances and Exits which could also be called dramatic entrances and exits. Beyond bold colours, theatrical scenes reminiscent of Hollywood movie sets, this solo show reveals the artist’s emblematic works, the majority of which are being show in France for the first time. The show plays out in the lobby, hallways and Café Jeanne of the Hyatt turning this celebrated hotel on the rue de la Paix into a genuine art gallery.

Known for his fashion photography, Aldridge’s works are held in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London. His photographs are seductively saturated and offer a work somewhere at the crossroads of cinema, art and fashion. Pop Art is a major influence on his works. During Paris Art Week which kicked off on October 19th, Aldridge set up a polaroid photo studio in the Suite Impériale of the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme replete with Hollywood studio in which you could have your portrait taken by the celebrated photographer and leave with your own private perfect Polaroid for 450 euros. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. The exhibition is on until December 1st at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, 5 rue de la Pais, 75002. https://milesaldridge.com/ https://www.hyatt.com/park-hyatt/en-US/parph-park-hyatt-paris-vendome
