As temperatures in Paris climb into the 90s, we bring you some cooling perfuming ideas. Exotic fragrances of the Far East are wending their way into Paris at the L’Atelier Perfume (The Perfume Atelier) whose underlying philosophy is to « Bottle the invisible. Not trends, not notes. Emotions. » Sakura Kiss Eau de Parfum offers up a whirlwind of delicate and airy flowers with notes of cherry blossoms and musks created by master perfumer Serge De Oliveira. It’s an ode to cherry blossom season in Japan whose peak season lasts only for a fleeting seven days . This is a niche perfume capturing the lightness of the cherry blossom, the delightful and delicate fragrance of peonies and juice-filled fruits all wrapped up in lingering musks.

There is a gourmet fragrance on the agenda as well with Matcha Crème Eau de Parfum, a Zen and gourmet world of matcha, milk foam and pistachio created by master perfumer Clément Marx. It’s a fresh and spicy fragrance with notes of the precious tea that is matcha with the creamy matcha wrapped up in a velvety milk foam. Favourite notes of sandalwood and tonka bean emanate from the bottle and onto your skin.

Founded in Paris in 2020, L’Atelier Parfum is a contemporary perfume house which explains that it places emotion at the heart of every creation. Each fragrance is entrusted to a perfumer who is given complete creative freedom to produce his or her fragrance. They are crafted in the southern French town of Grasse — the capital of perfume making — with carefully selected ingredients. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette
