Paris, France — Farmers feed the world and in France, a food land par excellence, an event reminds us all of the essential role farms and farmers play in our lives. For the fifth time France is celebrating the men and women who put our food on the table: the country’s farmers. The Journées nationales de l’Agriculture -The National Agriculture Days are being played out from June 6th until the 9th with some 1,500 events, round tables, workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions and conferences being held throughout France. Farms all over the country will open up their doors and barn doors to welcome visitors to get a glimpse of what life on a farm looks and feels like, offering an opportunity for one and all to gain a greater appreciation into the lives of those that feed them. In Paris for example events underscoring the various steps undertaken to bring food from the fields of the farm to your plate are being held in the the Arènes de Lutèce, the Gallo-Roman amphitheater built in the 2nd century. Pasta and bread making, cow milking and milk tasting, tractors and cooking workshops are all on the agenda. For the full program: http://www.journeesagriculture.fr
