Paris, France — The Euro football championship is in full swing for the next four weeks and there is something about the event that encourages a fun-filled ambiance replete with fans, fine food and fine drink. Paris has figured that one out and one of the town’s new hot spots is broadcasting most of the games on giant screens surrounded by plenty of tables, plenty of lounge chairs, an array of good value food and beverage offerings and local craft beers. DJ sets are featured after each match. The Paris hot spot —which will also be hosting Olympic events on its giant screens —enjoys the charming name of Ground Control and it’s conveniently located near the Bastille and the Gare de Lyon train station. Ground Control will be screening, live, the 8th Finals, the Quarter-finals, the Semi-finals and the Final (on July 14th). But there is another local location, too.

But if you want to see all of the Euro football games, soccer to us in the United States, football to the rest of the world, you can head over to Ground Control’s sister location in the upcoming and on trend suburb of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, home to a host of activities and just footsteps north of Paris. Communale is a fabulous and festive place and as its name implies community-oriented. There are the giant screens and plenty of food offerings as well and more of that local craft beer. You can even pick up a six-pack. Entrance to both of the locations is free of charge after it depends on what you order up. Special to The Gourmet Gazette.
