Paris, France — The Samaritaine department store in Paris which sits right on the Seine by the iconic Pont-Neuf bridge is a marvel of festive lights and colors for the Christmas season this year. The lights and decorations embody the enlightened city of light with bedecked store windows, a pretty pink chandelier and an installation dedicated to the wonder world of Wonka in honor of the December 13th release of Wonka and the early years of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. For the occasion, the traditional Christmas tree will be transformed into a larger-than-life chocolate one!

Special holiday foods and fashions are all on the agenda as well with Pierre Hermé offering up his macaroons and other specialties including a gourmet 12th Night cake with a Samaritaine figurine inside. Meanwhile a special gourmet menu is being served beneath the venerable department store’s iconic glass roof. Until January 9 the department store will celebrate celebration itself and the French art of living. And take this opportunity to explore 600 years of history thanks to an exceptional selection by the chandelier-making house of Mathieu Lustrerie, starting with the discovery of this Maison’s know-how and its well- deserved label of “Living Heritage Company”.
