Seiko is celebrating the 55th anniversary of its Seiko 5 Sports line of watches in style with four new watches inspired by the line’s rich history showcasing the details of its quartz diving watches of the 1980s. The watch’s emblematic case has been scaled down to a 38mm version and is thinner than it predecessors. The dials have been brought out in four different colors ranging from elegant white or black to a dazzling green and a sunny orange. The watches are outfitted with a stainless steel strap, Lumibrite hands and hour indicators and they are water resistant to 100 meters (335 feet). They enjoy a power reserve of 41 hours and will be available in May. The house of Seiko was founded in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop selling and repairing watches in Tokyo. The house produced the first Japanese diver’s watch in 1965 and the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. Special to The Gourmet Gazette. https://www.seikowatches.com/us-en/
