Since its founding in 2020, the Swiss house of Purnell has been bringing out high end, expensive timepieces in very limited editions. The hallmark of the house is that all of its watches are tourbillons, a key development in watchmaking that took place some 220 years ago. At Purnell the tourbillon takes the name of Spherion, the world’s fastest triple-axis tourbillon created for the house by the great watchmaker Eric Coudray. To celebrate the summer, Purnell has just brought out its Escape II Yellow Ceramized Titanium with its 48mm ceramized titanium case, its double Spherion, a power reserve of 32 hours and hand painted hour indexes, hands and power reserve indication and outfitted with a bright yellow rubber strap. Its color is a powerful lemon yellow which emphasizes the outer tourbillon cages rotating in 30 seconds while the secondary cage rotates in 16 seconds and the inner cage in 8 seconds. They operate in the opposite direction through a differential ingenious system created by Eric Coudray for Purnell. This timepiece has been brought out in a limited edition of one unique piece. It is priced at 450,000 Swiss francs or about US$ 470,000.

In other news from the house, Purnell has just opened up an elegant Purnell boutique in the celebrated Dubai Mall to complement its Geneva showroom.
