The Only Watch Auction Brings in US$ 32.1 million

Geneva, Switzerland —The best of the best in watchmaking came together once again for the Only Watch watch auction held last November 6th at the Palexpo venue and conducted by Christie’s. The ninth edition of the Only Watch charity auction brought together 53 one-off creations donated by some of the most prestigious and exclusive watch brands that participated in the auction. The auction’s motto is Create Beauty to Do Good, and that in fact is what was accomplished with the proceeds of US$ 32.1 million being donated for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research.

“We don’t often take the time to reflect on the progress that’s been made. But today, we should: we’ve come a long way. We are at the dawn of a clinical trial of a therapeutic solution that’s been elaborated thanks to ONLY WATCH funding. In the very near future, 12 boys and young men will be given a drug which researchers believe will alleviate the disease. To you all, Only Watch community… you have my gratitude, » said H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco in his opening remarks to the 9th Edition of Only Watch.
