The peacock, one of the most luxuriant of birds with its feather eyes and bold blues that shimmer. The house of Eberhard & Co. has captures the enigmatic beauty of the bird in a new dial that enriches the Swiss house’s Gilda collection. Simply and evocatively named Peacock, its dial is outfitted with shimmering enigmatic « eyes » characteristic of peacock feathers. The elliptical case encases in its fluid and enveloping lines the precious dial.

The base of the dial, in blue tones with a dégradé effect, is the result of an elaborate coloring process made even more complex by its elliptical shape. Upon this surface, a precious decoration comes to life through a laser engraving process that takes approximately eight hours: a radiating engraved motif, enhanced by a relief inspired by peacock feathers, which is then colored to recreate the characteristic play of iridescence found in the plumage. The timepiece, which is powered by a quartz movement is water resistant to 50 meters and it is outfitted with a lapis-blue alligator strap with silver lurex stitching and an elliptical-shaped buckle bearing the Shield, the emblem of the Maison. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette https://www.eberhard-co-watches.ch/en/
