Paris, France — Contemporary artist, sculptor and musician Richard Orlinski became the first personality of 2026 to become part of the mythical Musée Grévin wax museum in the mythical Grands Boulevards neighborhood of Paris. Richard Orlinski, regarded as one of the best selling of the contemporary French artists, is famous for his endearing art work and sculptures, often depicting animals and often monumental in scope. His artistic career began back in 2006 with a crocodile in bright red resin that he named Born Wild. His works are exhibited around the world from Paris to New York to Courcheval and Beverly Hills and beyond. He is also known for his collaboration with well-known brands like Disney, Hublot and Porsche.

And in a reversal of roles, for the first time Orlinski the sculptor was sculpted himself. It was Grévin’s sculptor Stéphane Barret who did the actual modelling and sculpting with Orlinski making several visits to the museum’s workshop of 12 craftsmen and artists to determine the attitude, the facial expression and the taking of precise measures among a host of other details including making a cast of his hands one of which holds his celebrated statue Kong. It took six months to fashion the wax statue which was revealed to the public last March 13th. His wax neighbors at the museum include Brad Pitt and Beyoncé. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette https://www.galeries-orlinski.com/en/home/
