
La Maison Elysée, just across the street from the Elysée Palace of the French president, brings together French savoir-faire in a boutique, café and museum offering up Made in France excellence. The house has just launched a delightful new pastry, the all chcolate Saint-Honoré. Saint Honoré, the bishop of Amiens, circa 550, is the patron saint of bakers and pastry makers. Created by Auguste Jullien in 1847, it is actually named for the street where the shop that created the first Saint-Honoré pastry which was located on the rue Saint-Honoré (named for aforesaid saint), and not far from where the presidential palace and the Maison Elysée are located. This take on the pastry is garnished with Manjari chocolate from Madagascar and infused with buckwheat and hazel nuts. La Maison Elysée: 88 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris, France.
