With the 2025 Year of the Ocean in full swing, it seemed appropriate to look at the latest releases from one of the pioneering diving watches: Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms. Last June, Blancpain introduced two eye-catching yet powerful new Fifty Fathoms Automatique models in a 38 mm format, distinguished by striking mother-of-pearl dégradé dials in petal pink and smoky black. Dubbed, Fifty Fathoms, Her Way, These two new models represent the debut of Fifty Fathoms models for women. These two new Fifty Fathoms Automatique timepieces for women introduce, for the first time, a 38 mm case to the iconic line. The iridescence of mother-of-pearl, a luminous treasure from the sea, takes center stage in these new models. The black dial, with its dégradé effect, is paired with a polished 18 ct red gold case and outfitted with a smoky black rubber strap while the pink model with its petal mother-of-pearl dial is framed by a brushed titanium case with a subtle greyish tone and outfitted with a whimsical white strap with pink stripes.

The timepieces are powered by Blancpain’s calibre 1153, with a 100-hour power reserve and a silicon balance spring. They are water-resistant to 30 bar or 1000 feet (300 meters). These timepieces pay tribute to the women taking action as part of the Blancpain Ocean Commitment, especially through the Ocean Photographer of the Year competition, and more particularly, the Female Fifty Fathoms Award, explains Blancpain. “These watches meet the growing demand for sporty, yet elegant timepieces perfectly tailored to slimmer wrists. They stand as a testament to our watchmaking heritage and to the women who, through their art and courage, reveal the wonders of the underwater world,” commented Marc A. Hayek, Blancpain President & CEO. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette https://www.blancpain.com/en
