An exceptional collection of clocks amassed by the late Leonard Fuller is slated to be auctioned off on September 12th during an exceptional auction: Dreweatts Fine Clocks, Barometers and Scientific Instruments.
The Fuller family were avid collectors of antiques including fine ceramics, silverware and books which they housed at the family country estate at St. Mary Bourne in Hampshire. Leonard Fuller was fascinated by the engineering skills of the Romans and Greeks, travelled extensively and amassed an impressive collection of clocks which he placed throughout the family estate and kept in good working condition.

Trained as a mechanical engineer and earning his degree from Imperial College, he also made his own clocks from basic metal and used his lathes and other engineering tools, while still entrusting the maintenance of his valued timepieces to highly experienced antiquarian horologists. He lived from the age of thirteen in the picturesque private family estate in St Mary Bourne surrounded by nature, tranquillity and his beloved ancient wood and he passed away on the 23rd April 2024 in St Mary Bourne. Mr. Fuller had no descendants and he wished for his collection to be sold for charitable purposes and that is indeed where the proceeds of the sale will go.

The sale will be held on Thursday 12 September, 10.30am GMT
at the Donnington Priory, Newbury, Berkshire in the United Kingdom. Viewings on Wednesday 11 September: 9am-4pm and Thursday 12 September: 9am-12pm.
