Paris, France — He is regarded as one of the best selling of the contemporary French artists. Richard Orlinski is famous for his endearing sculptures, often monumental in scope. He has opened up his fourth pop-up store, this time in Paris in the heart of the Marais neighborhood. The shop features a wide range of derivative works and art works including his emblematic sculptures, often of animals. And in an official collaboration with Paris 2024 for the Olympic and Paralympic games of Paris 2024, the artist is presenting, in exclusivity, four different versions of the mascots of the Paris games.

The mascot is the iconic and anthropomorphic Phrygian cap. The red hat was worn by freed slaves in Phrygia, an ancient kingdom of Greece in what is now Turkey. During the French Revolution it was worn as a symbol of freedom and has since become a symbol of France. Two of the four versions can be pre-ordered starting from July 2nd and the two others will be available online starting July 24th. Special to The Gourmet Gazette. Pop-up store until July 7th. 78 rue de Turenne, 75003, 10am until 8pm. Online sales at: https://orlinskishop.com/en/
