Segafredo Zanetti has just brought out an excellent expresso (or the original term espresso)  that you can actually brew yourself at home. Available ground or as beans that you can grind yourself to enjoy the heavenly smell of freshly ground coffee, the house has brought out an authentic expresso/espresso true to its traditions. Each bean is roasted using the Italian method which means they are roasted beyond the second crack because the coffee beans burst twice in the roasting machine. The Italian roasting method is longer and hotter than other methods. The beans become very dark and the taste is strong and literally a little smokey.  The Segafredo Zanetti expresso reaches an intensity of nine with « intensity » accounting for the richness and the aroma of the coffee. Intensities 8-10 describe a coffee with a strong body and a particularly strong aroma. The house uses both arabica and robusta beans in its new expresso and in so doing offers a balanced flavor as well. Look out for the eye-catching black and red signature packaging in your favorite grocery store or supermarket. Founded by the Zanetti family, it is one of the rare coffee houses to source, roast, produce and distribute its very own coffees. Special to The Gourmet Gazette. https://segafredocoffee.com/
