Ryan Gosling, Hollywood star, Barbie’s Ken and TAG Heuer’s brand ambassador has chosen to sport three exceptional watches in the Barbie movie that was released in theaters last July. And in Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin fashion, he even takes to wearing them three at a time in the movie. Mr. Gosling handpicked three stand out gold TAG Heuer timepieces to flash about in the movie. Ken exudes sheer delight while presenting the watches and proudly shares his newfound possession of both time and style in the film, experiencing time in the real world when someone asks him, “What time is it?”. These timepieces symbolize the shift from the fantastical Barbie universe to the tangible real world, where the concept of time holds significant importance, notes TAG Heuer in a release.

“Generally the watch is a symbol that you’re busy and you have important things to do and cool places to be. When you’re a Ken, you have none of those things. So it’s even more important for you to appear that you do. I’m sure you’re all aware of the Coco Chanel rule: before you leave the house, you take one thing off. The Ken Rule is you put three things on, ” Mr. Gosling recently said in the Kencentials (Read Ken’s Essentials) YouTube video for GQ.

The standout pieces include the original reference 1158 CHN from 1971, an extraordinary watch worn by renowned drivers in the world of motorsports. This timepiece was enhanced with a solid 18-karat gold bracelet, showcasing its iconic Milanese-style design and exquisitely accentuating its visual appeal. Another noteworthy selection is the reference 110.515, dating back to 1974, boasting a distinctive barrel-shaped case with a stunning sunray-brushed finish and an intricately engraved Côte de Genève dial. The timeless Carrera reference 2448NT completes the Ken trio, drawing inspiration from the original 1963 Carrera model. Its faceted lugs and iconic design elements evoke the spirit of the past while exuding a sense of classic elegance.

In addition to the watches seen on the big screen, TAG Heuer added a recently introduced TAG Heuer Carrera Date in a vibrant pink hue that Mr. Gosling often wears to the film’s promotional events. This exceptional timepiece, launched during the brand’s celebration of the 60th birthday of the TAG Heuer Carrera, features a streamlined silhouette, a vibrant pink dial color, and an upgraded mechanical movement.

“We are very proud to accompany Ryan Gosling for this iconic new production and to continue to support him on his artistic endeavors. Ryan is an amazing actor, incredibly creative and committed in each project he does, and our partnership evolves with every new project Ryan embarks on with TAG Heuer, » said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. TAG Heuer was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland, it is a luxury watch brand that is part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (“LVMH”), the world’s leading luxury group. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. https://www.tagheuer.com/fr/en/
