Betty Fiechter would become the first woman to head up a watch house. This house was Blancpain and the house would go on to several firsts for women’s watches. From the first automatic ladies’ wristwatch in 1930 to the smallest round mechanical movement several decades ago to today through the house’s exquisite Ladybird collection, the pioneering and visionary spirit of Betty Fiechter lives on.

The house has recently brought out some fabulous color combinations in its Ladybird collection fittingly entitled Ladybird Colors. One version displays two new small seconds hands and in another version displays a moon phase complication. The textured mother-of-pearl dial set with 70 diamonds features colorful midnight blue, peacock green, forest green, lilac or turquoise Roman numerals and these variations are picked up on the straps of these red or white gold models.

The Ladybird Colors models feature high-end gem setting evident in its 34.9mm case with Calibre 1163 for the small seconds version and the Calibre 1163L for the moon-phase. Outfitted with a four-day power reserve and a silicon balance spring, accuracy is also on the agenda along with elegance and style. This is simply luxury in a limited edition. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. https://www.blancpain.com/en
