Monte Carlo, Monaco — It was the 5th Monte Carlo Gala for Planetary Health under the aegis of the Monaco Foundation. Hosted by Prince Albert II of Monaco at the Prince’s Palace, the event, held last September 23rd, was dedicated to the oceans, Earth and all humanity, highlighting the importance of protecting the natural world. The Foundation’s efforts target three key areas of action: climate change, biodiversity and water as a critical resource. The Monte-Carlo Gala raises funds through a charity auction to support projects in the Mediterranean Basin, the polar regions and developing countries.

Lending support to the cause and leading the red carpet glamor, Sharon Stone was her usual stunning self wearing a glorious gown of deep lilac with a dramatic train. Sharon Stone was also the recipient of the principality’s Lifetime Achievement Award in reconnaissance for commitment to the emancipation of women, her actions for medical research and her continued efforts to change the world.

The star wore jewelry from the house of Chopard, notably diamond earrings and an eye-catching aquamarine ring. The earrings in 18-karat white gold were set with pear cut diamonds while the 18-karat white gold ring was set with an oval cut aquamarine weighing in at 13.44 karats. Both pieces emanate from Chopard’s Collection Haute Joaillerie, the house’s high jewelry collection. Also in attendance were Orlando Bloom and the French actor and face of Chanel men’s perfume Gaspard Ulliel.
