Paris, France — The 96th Miss France contest is being held tonight in the northern French town of Amiens for the election of Miss France 2026. But there is another competition: for the hairdressers that will be doing the contestants hair styles back stage so that each candidate stars on stage. The French house of Saint Algue, a prestigious French house of coiffure, has been doing the hair styles of the Miss France contestants for 36 years now but their own hair dressers have to compete to be among the team of hair dressers that will  be part of the Miss France styling team. The Miss France pageant is televised live, so the hair dressers need to be able to work under stress as well. The most experienced and trusted are chosen among the staff to compete with rigid criteria guiding the initial choice: a mastery of contemporary techniques, adaptability, professionalism and the ability to manage the stress that is inherent to live, televised events. « We are looking for talented coiffures who are both passionate and rigorous, able to work under pressure while creating hair styles that bring out the best in each face, »commented Dimitri Martin Diaz, the head of training at Saint Algue.
