Paris, France — As the Northern Hemisphere heads into fall from summer, with the arrival of the fall equinox today, we take a look back at one of our great summer memories. The perfume Soleil Mouillé (literally Wet Sun) from the Parisian house of Antinomie. It’s a great summertime fragrance, evocative of a summer sky being traversed by a storm, but it can really be worn year round with its lively blend of bergamot, the fragrant citrus fruit famously grown in Reggio Calabria, mandarin orange, the sea rose of South Africa, jasmine samba absolute, musk, vanilla of Madagascar, amber and the magic of magnolia. It’s a lingering scent. Perfect for an Indian summer. The unisex fragrance was created by Pierre Guéros for the house of Antinomie, a singular perfumer whose perfumes are typically unisex and offer up highly concentrated fragrances made in France with high-quality ingredients.

Antinomie or antinomy in English describes a situation in which two statements or beliefs that are both reasonable seem to contradict, a paradox of sorts. The equinox — the word equinox comes from two Latin words meaning equal and night — is when day and night enjoy equal time for a moment. Equinoxes are the only times when both the north and south poles are lit by sunshine at the same time. The Antinomie boutique is located at 99 rue du Bac, 75007 Paris. https://antinomieparfum.com/
