As the 2025 edition of Geneva Watch Days draws to a successful close, our eyes turned to a recently published book delving into the relationship between women, watches and watchmaking. The Wonderful World of Women’s Watches: Beauty Beyond Time by Toronto-based writer Rhonda Riche and published in English and German by the publishing house of teNeues Publishers offers a beautiful even magical journey into the world of women’s watches. More than just a timepiece watches are  an accessory, a statement and an investment. One learns, for example that Elizabeth Taylor, in addition to being an award-winning actress was also a savy watch collector (and also known for being late). The book is a visual feast with plenty of pictures of luxury watches, many filled with a bevy of jewels. And it reveals how watch makers and designers truly embrace watchmaking for ladies.

All of the legendary timepieces are there from Princess Diana’s Cartier Tank watch to Victoria Beckham’s Rolex Daytona. The book takes a look at historical figures like Caroline Murat, the Queen of Naples and Napoleon Bonaparte’s youngest sister and the inspiration for Breguet’s Queen of Naples watch collection.  It was Abraham-Louis Breguet who created the first wristwatch for her back in 1810. This beautiful book explores all of the classics as well as newer designs and modern masterpieces. Collectors and newcomers alike will enjoy reading about the houses of high watchmaking like Bulgari, Omega and Piaget. The book, an essential guide to high-end women’s watches, is a perfect gift for watch and fashion enthusiasts. https://www.teneues.com/en/book/the-wonderful-world-of-womens-watches
