Paris, France — Hand-made crochet work, bark, earth and spices are all a part of the highly successful summer fun that is drawing to a close, albeit partially, at the newly renovated Grand Palais in Paris. Contemporary Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto invited the public to discover his Nosso Barco Tambor Terra within the context of the Brazil-France Season 2025 (France Saison Brésil-France 2025). The intriguing installation work which is a group of sculptures is hand-made using organic materials and ancestral traditions. The massive work also integrates a wide range of instruments from around the world which the public could play. Ernesto Neto’s works can be found in prestigious collections throughout the world including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France, the Guggenheim in New York and the MoMA – Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Grand Palais, also within the context of the Brazil-France Season 2025 (France Saison Brésil-France 2025), presented a group exhibition of paintings by contemporary Brazilian artists entitled Horizontes with themes ranging from nature to childhood or the architecture of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. Both shows, which were free of charge and closed on July 25th, drew large and enthusiastic crowds to the spectacular Grand Palais.

The Brazilian leg of the Brazil-France Season 2025 is underway in Paris until September 30th and The French leg of the season will take place in Brazil from August until December. The event revolves around three themes: climate and ecological transition, diversity in societies and dialoguing with Africa, and democracy and fair globalization. Hundreds of cultural events are on the agenda and a not to be missed Brazilian food court dubbed the Brazilian Food Temple at the Carreau du Temple in Paris for four days in September. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette, The Festival Food Temple from September 18th through September 21st.
