There is the sparkle of clear crystal and the elegance of frosted Persepolis blue. The house of Lalique has just brought out its new collection of six crystal jewels drawing its inspiration from the natural minerals of our good Earth. Fascinating for their beauty and diversity, natural minerals are formed over millions of years outfitting these earth-born treasures with unique shapes, colors and structures. Lalique’s Terramineral jewelry collection embodies the house’s mastery of crystal cutting as the collection reveals pieces that showcase three finely sculpted and chiseled crystal cuts. The collection has been brought out in clear crystal on 18-carat gold-plated metal and frosted Persepolis blue crystal on silver. A bracelet, earrings, brooch, ring, necklace and a pendant have been fashioned in clear crystal and the unique Persepolis blue crystal.

The house of Lalique was founded in 1888 by René Lalique and the house remains one of the crown jewels of France’s crystal glass industry. Mr. Lalique was a pioneer of modern jewelry before becoming a master glassmaker. And the house remains a symbol of unique knowhow and art and design excellence. The Lalique manufacture is in the town of Wingen-sur-Moder in Alsace where the first stoves were fired in 1922 and it remains to this day the only place in the world where Lalique crystal is made. Lalique know-how has received the prestigious label of Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Enterprise, or EPV), a label of distinction awarded by the French State to recognize French firms for the excellence of their traditional and industrial skills.©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette.  www.lalique.com/en
