Paris, France — It is one of the French capital’s most engaging cultural institutions: the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain (The Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art). Currently located on the Left Bank on the Boulevard Raspail on a spot where the American Cultural Center once stood, the foundation is moving across town to a complex across the street from the Louvre and will inaugurate its new premises on the Place du Palais-Royal in Paris at the end of 2025. This groundbreaking space, designed by architect Jean Nouvel, marks the third major chapter in the history of the Fondation Cartier which was founded 40 years ago and first housed in the French town of Jouy-en-Josas near Versailles. The foundation closes its doors at the end of the day on March 16th after inviting the general public to come inside (and outside for it is outfitted with a free-wheeling natural garden) free of charge.

The Fondation Cartier presents the work of renowned French and international artists, as well as young artists with promising talents. Cartier International has become the leading private French company in the patronage of contemporary art and is a unique example of corporate philanthropy in France.
