Neuilly-sur-Seine, France — There is a stone of dzi flanked by coral, finely crafted jewels from the Newari of the Kathmandu Valley and a ring of nine stones from Tibet symbolising the sun, moon and the seven cosmic stars sacred to Tibetans. These are just a few of the 500 pieces that form the collection of Himalayan jewels and objects amassed by a cartographer (with excellent taste in jewelry) who worked for over 30 years charting the enchanting lands of the Himalayas: from Tibet to Nepal, to the mysterious lands of Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. This gentleman from Singapore who lived between there and Paris acquired these pieces directly from the locals. They are currently on exhibition in the sleek Parisian suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine where the family-owned Aguttes auction house will put them up for auction on September 19th at 2:30pm divided into 160 lots. There are museum quality pieces in the offing. Exhibition September 16th and 17th from 10am until 5:30pm and on September 18th and 19th by appointment. Aguttes Neuilly, 164 bis, avenue Charles-de-Gaulle, 92200 Neuilly-sur-Seine. Tel: +33 (0) 47 45 55 55. https://www.aguttes.com/en/home
