While the couture collections were heading down the runways of Paris last week, The Gourmet Gazette turned to the Eternal City, Rome, for some unique high fashion inspirations where Antonio Grimaldi was showing his Autumn Winter 2024-25 couture collection. Fairy-like detailing swept through the show with feathers, embroideries, glittering inserts and cascading crystals. Twenty-five sumptuous and ultra glamorous looks formed the collection called I Shine. And everyone who wears these high fashion dresses will shine. These are long dresses and mini dresses for sophisticated parties and high society balls.

Transparency played a major role in the show and the fabrics used were among the most noble: chiffon, velvet, tulle, crêpe cady, leather and organza worked their magic to become three-dimensional stand outs. There were sophisticated trains, jewelled bodices and tulle ruffles. The sumptuousness of a life made of luxury, elegance and beauty is expressed in the use of a color palette that goes from the contrast between black and white – recalling the original photos of the celebrated years – to a series of shades that draw from the range of precious stones from diamonds – yellow and pink – to beryl which goes from brown to an intense golden shade.
