New York, New York — While spectacular outfits at the Met Gala are always a highlight, that at times need to be helped, literally up the steps, time is always of the essential. We spotted some Gourmet Time Wear last May 6th at the annual benefit gala during which guests were told to dress in Garden of Time attire for the annual event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Swiss house of Piaget floated down the Red Carpet (which was actually green for the Met event) on the wrists of Brooklyn Beckham, who was making his red carper debut, wearing Piaget’s long awaited release, the Polo79 in stunning gold. Meanwhile Matt Damon was wearing Andy Warhol’s iconic timepiece Piaget’s Andy Warhol Watch in rose gold with an outstanding black dial.

The high profile, invite-only Met Gala is a benefit for the New York museum and marks the opening of its Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. This year’s show, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, features rare items that have been dormant in the Costume Institute’s permanent collection.

Now, 45 years after its first appearance, this historically significant timepiece is reborn as Piaget Polo79 and this is the first time this piece has ever been worn on a red carpet.
