Paris, France — It was raining and at times pouring. A perfect day for their flagship store opening on April 27th. Flotte, a French brand specialized in rain gear and wear, opened up its very first store in the Marais neighborhood of Paris yesterday. And it rained for them just as it has been doing in town since roughly November. Flotte, which is informal French for, you guessed it, rain, was founded in 2020 by Lyly Wu and Mickaël Pan and its stated mission « is to make bad weather much more cheerful through eco-friendly, colorful and mixed rainwear. » For without rain there would be no flowers, plants or trees. It is also a proponent of sustainable wear for the house makes its garments from recycled material, mainly plastic bottles, food packaging and worn out clothing. It has received the Oeko-tex standard 100 certification and the Recycled Standard label. Flotte’s flower-bedecked shop is open from 11am until 8pm seven days a week.
