The countdown to the Paris Summer Olympic Games has begun with 100 days to go to the games. So it is just the right moment in time for the Official Timekeeper of the Games, Omega, to release a new Speedmaster Chronoscope, the Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024. This new 43mm series is available in four models. These include a version in full stainless steel with an anodized aluminum bezel and another with a ceramic bezel and an 18K Moonshine TM Gold case and bracelet which is Omega’s own yellow gold alloy known for its subtle hue and long-lasting shine.

Each watch has a silvery white opaline dial outfitted with three dark grey timing scales in a 1940’s snail-like design. The timing devices include a tachymeter scale, a pulsometer scale (which measures heartbeats per minute), and a telemeter scale, a scale which is used to measure the distance separating an observer from a phenomenon which is first visible then audible. But with Omega it is all about timekeeping and these watches pay tribute to that precise and all encompassing timekeeping that Omega brings to the Olympic Games as its official timekeeper, a role it has held since 1932. Other noteworthy details include the blackened sundials on the dial and the Arabic numerals in 18K Moonshine TM Gold, and leaf-shaped hands and subdial hands that are Moonshine TM Gold coated.

And the back of the Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 enjoys a striking commemorative case back with a stamped medallion featuring a frosted base and a mirror-polished Paris 2024 logo, along with the stamped words, “Paris 2024” and the Olympic Rings. And for sublime accuracy, OMEGA has equipped the Speedmaster Chronoscope with the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908/9909, certified by METAS at the highest standard of precision, performance, and magnetic resistance in the Swiss watch industry. A further two editions are available in the Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 collection, including a stainless steel model on a perforated black calfskin leather strap, and another 18K Moonshine TM Gold version on a standard black calfskin leather strap.

Meanwhile Omega also brought out a Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024, last year, exactly one year before the Games were to begin. This has been crafted as an exclusive tribute to the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad. This edition of the Olympic Games will mark Omega’s 31st as the Official Timekeeper. It is created from stainless steel and 18K Moonshine TM Gold – OMEGA’s very own yellow gold alloy, which offers a more subtle hue, as well as high-resistance to fading. As an Olympic Games timepiece, the use of gold is an essential inclusion, and a reminder of the coveted medals that every athlete strives for. The eye-catching watch is outfitted with a white ceramic dial that is set off beautifully by the gold colored details. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. https://www.omegawatches.com/
